Marine Unit

The McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit is dedicated to protecting the people, waterways, and natural resources of our coastal community. Our Marine Unit deputies provide law enforcement and public safety services throughout the county’s rivers, creeks, waterways, marshes, islands, and coastal areas. Deputies respond to marine-related calls for service, assist boaters in need, respond to calls for service on the islands, and work to promote the safe and responsible use of our waterways. The Marine Unit also supports other divisions of the Sheriff’s Office during search and rescue operations, special events, investigations, and emergencies where access by water is necessary.

As a coastal community, our waterways are an important part of McIntosh County’s way of life, supporting recreational boating, fishing, hunting, commercial activity, and tourism. The Marine Unit works to ensure these waterways remain safe and accessible for residents, visitors, and those who make their living on the water. Through proactive patrols, education, enforcement, and partnerships with other local, state, and federal agencies, our Marine Unit deputies are committed to protecting our waterways, assisting those in need, promoting boating safety, and serving the citizens and visitors of McIntosh County.
