McIntosh County Detention Center
The McIntosh County Detention Center, under the leadership of the McIntosh County Office of the Sheriff, is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, professional, and efficiently operated correctional facility. The Detention Center is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of individuals entrusted to its care while supporting the overall mission of the Sheriff’s Office.
Detention Center Leadership
The daily operations of the McIntosh County Detention Center are led by Major Gina Ellison, Chief Jailer, with Lieutenant Amanda Vaughn serving as Assistant Chief Jailer. Together, they oversee the overall operation and security of the facility, detention personnel, inmate management, policy compliance, and staff development.

Food
Services
Inmate meal services are provided by Summit Food Service. Summit works with Detention Center administration and staff to provide meals to individuals housed within the facility while meeting applicable nutritional and food-service requirements.
The McIntosh County Detention Center provides essential detention services including inmate intake and release, housing and supervision, facility security, transportation, court coordination, visitation, and other functions associated with the safe custody of individuals housed within the facility.
Detention officers and supervisors are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the facility while ensuring individuals in custody are treated professionally and humanely.
Medical
Services
Medical services at the McIntosh County Detention Center are provided by Genesys Health Alliance.
Genesys Health Alliance manages the facility's medical department and provides healthcare services for individuals housed at the Detention Center. Detention staff work closely with medical personnel to address healthcare needs and support continuity of care within the secure correctional environment.
Training, Safety & Professional Standards
The McIntosh County Detention Center is committed to continually strengthening its operations through updated policies and procedures, staff training, leadership development, accountability, and professional standards.
Special attention is placed on facility security, inmate supervision, suicide prevention and screening, officer safety, emergency preparedness, and staff development.
